Prof. Herbert Freund Born in Haifa, Israel. Prof. Freund Graduate of the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem. He graduated of the General Surgery Training Program at the Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem. Advanced Post-Graduate training at the Harvard Medical School and the University of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Professor Freund is a professor of surgery, Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School (1983) and Chief of Surgery, Hadassah University Medical Center – Mount Scopus (1989-2008).

Prof. Freund’s main fields of expertise are: surgical oncology; surgical endocrinology; surgical metabolism and nutrition; surgical education. He is the author of over 310 scientific publications and book chapters in the medical literature.
